Imagine the last Yahi, a man born around 1860, singing with a 21st century chamber orchestra.

Taylor was able to digitally enhance recordings taken from the original 1912 – 1914 Edison Wax Cylinders of Ishi singing the songs of his people.

Ishi Sings, as performed by the Mercury Ensemble, is available on itunes and on CDBaby: www.cdbaby.com/cd/tomtaylor12. The score is available on this web site's store.

Tom Taylor is an internationally known guitarist/composer whose music is a hybrid of jazz, classical, rock and even a dash of blues and bluegrass. His new CD, Home, features the world-renowned Turtle Island String Quartet. Listen to excerpts at cdbaby.com/cd/taylortom2

Tom is one of the winners of Musician Magazine's "Best Unsigned Band" contest. His winning entry from The Crossing, "Aubade," is described as "the hardest tune I ever had to record" by mandolin virtuoso David Grisman. When Tom's full orchestral arrangement of "Big Basin Breakdown" (also from The Crossing) received its European premier, it brought down the house at the famed Hercules and Prinzregenten theatres in Munich, Germany. Its blend of bluegrass, jazz, and baroque melodies received a 5-minute standing ovation! Listen to excerpts from the crossing at cdbaby.com/cd/taylortom

Tom is the jazz guitar instructor at Colorado College and directs the the college's Tiger Jazz Ensemble.
